Welcome BlueNCers

Here's a chance to chat about the changes you see here at NC Politico that you think you will like at BlueNC and the things that you aren't so sure about. Go ahead and post a trial diary to see if you like the new teaser method. (Hint - look for the radio button that reads, "Split summary at cursor.")

Try out the forums. I'm not sure if they will work at BlueNC, but now is your chance to talk about what you like and don't like.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be checking in while BlueNC is being upgraded and will give progress reports periodically.

Hi Betsy...

Just signed up here... Really like the format.
Stan

Thanks, Stan

I've enjoyed working on it and hope the end result at BlueNC will be something that makes most people happy. I know I'm not going to make everybody happy.

Everything is backed up

I have copies of everything. New modules and files have been downloaded and now I'm just cleaning up the database errors. Ish......

I did buy some pumpkin spice coffee tonight, so am enjoying some yummy festive coffee while I work.

Pumpkin Spice at 10:18 pm?

You ARE decadent!

I trust it was decaff.

Nah...I knew I would be up late

So I went for the loaded stuff.

It was yummy.

Hello Mr. Harrison!

Nice to know someone else is up. How was your day?

Ciao, bella

My sister Trish (from Washington) is in town, so we've been hanging some. This site's pretty cool, but it doesn't (seem to) have a function showing the who's, what's and when's of recent comments. Will we still see (and be able to click) those at BlueNC?

Hello to Trish!

Look on the left sidebar. That's one of my tricky changes. See the radio buttons for New Blog Posts and New Comments? You can switch off between the two. It will save space on our sidebars for other things....hopefully ads that will keep us up and running. :D

Have fun with your family. I spent the afternoon rebuilding our database and riding in the Monroe Christmas Parade with a bunch of Democratic Women. I have been told that in the past we didn't get too many waves, but this time we had crowds cheering for us. It was pretty cool.

Has anyone mentioned that

Has anyone mentioned that it's aesthetically pleasing? 'Cause it is.

No they haven't and that is what I'm going for

I want to have as many geegaws and doodads as we need without having the place look cluttered. (I'm sure my husband would appreciate it if I took this same approach to my own home.)

...and thank you. :D

The People's Think Tank

In the comment section of Higher Ground Yankees Fan had this to say:

Before I end this, let me interject a point of humor. When debate whether Spanish should be given special status as language in Texas, a Texas state representative (I hope a Republican) stood up and said, "If English was good enough for Jesus Christ, it's good enough for me."
