This has been a busy week and I've ignored NCPolitico. Sorry. I actually do have regular readers and I didn't mean to ignore you. Between getting the girls back to school, finishing up on those last boxes and making sure BlueNC WoW happened this week, I've been too busy to do my regular blogging rounds.

If you are a frequent reader at BlueNC, you are familiar with our Women on Wednesdays series. Twice a month, the women writers and commenters at BlueNC take over the front page and give the news from a woman's perspective. It hasn't been easy because there are so few of us.

The beauty of the day is that we work together to produce something that has a slightly different flavor than the typical day at BlueNC. Not one of us is a shrinking violet and we don't feel we need a special day set aside to have our voices heard, but we will keep up with our Wednesday sessions. It's a time we can set aside to remind each other to reach out to other women and minority groups who don't always have their voices heard.

This week, we announced a new front page team member, Linda Cloud. Leslie H. introduced us to Emily's List candidate training. Drama Queen kicked dust in Patty McLapDog's face. Working for Change announced news about the upcoming Larry Kissell event with Ambassador Joe Wilson. Our honorary woman, James Protzman (Anglico), cheered on a bunch of gutsy grannies and lcloud had us in tears with a beautifully written memory of her Dad.

Our next Women on Wednesdays will feature topics on the theme: Girls, Science and Math. Look for us September 12 at BlueNC. We usually start around 9:00 a.m.
